Described as a leap of consciousness,
intuition is sometimes referred to as a
flash of insight or knowing. A process of
connecting with the higher mind, it is the
product that is referred to when describing
brilliant minds at work or the conduit
leading to great inspiration. The end result
leads to inspired ideas and projects,
elevated positive results and harmonic
design in form and function.
For thousands of years, eastern cultures
have recognized the ability of intuition and
its many practical purposes in daily life.
Rather than being perceived as a mystery, it
is described as a connection between heart,
spirit and mind that can be accessed by all
who wish to understand and access this
energy. During this panel presentation, we
will discuss how the intuitive process works
in a variety of formats, including business
applications, real estate transactions,
decision making, creative thinking outside
the box, inspired ideas and creations, and
enhanced communication and understanding of
people and organizations.
Medicine and Healing Panel Discussion:
Where We Are and Where We Might Go
Rhine Research Center, Spring 2007
Conference at Myrtle Beach
Part 1
Part 2
Steve
Baumann, PhD, Biomedical Engineer, Healing
Researcher
Josiane D'Hoop, Healer, Hypnotherapist, and
Teacher
Jerry Pittman, MD, Medical Practitioner
Jane Katra, MPH, Healer, Author
We intend to compare and contrast the
clinical aspects of the practice of medicine
and the practice of energetic healing as
they are now, and suggest how they might
work better together to serve those who seek
healing.
At present the fields of energetic healing
and allopathic medicine are practiced with
separate goals and intentions, using terms
which vary in meaning between the fields,
using different paradigms to describe what
we are doing.
Before we can begin a scientific study of
healing or medicine that makes sense to both
fields, we must arrange to be on the "same
sheet of music" and thereby clarify our
intentions.
Intuitive
Diagnosis Panel Discussion:
Scientific
and clinical intuitive medical diagnosis
Rhine Research Center, Spring 2007
Conference at Myrtle Beach
Part 1
Part 2
Larry
Burk, MD, Moderator, Radiologist, Intuitive
Diagnosis Researcher
Leon Curry, MD, Internist, Intuitive
Diagnosis Researcher
Mary Jo Bulbrook, RN, EdD, Intuitive Healer
Brent Atwater, Intuitive Healer
This panel discussion will review historical
examples of intuitive medical diagnosis,
summarize the scientific literature to date
and provide case histories from physicians
and intuitives. The ability to diagnose
illness without physical examination,
history or medical technology has been
frequently reported, but there has been
little quality research to validate this
diagnostic approach. Discussion on this
panel will be useful in providing detailed
information about the process and in
planning future research projects.
Historically, Edgar Cayce was the most
famous intuitive diagnostician with records
of thousands of cases on file at the
Association for Research and Enlightenment.
He would be given the name and location of a
patient in a trance state and claimed to
access the Akashic Records to obtain medical
information. Intuitive diagnosis is
discussed in many other historical contexts,
but Dr. John Elliotson was the first
physician to attempt to research the
phenomenon in 1838 by reporting his
experiences with the Okey sisters. Since
that time, 7 formal research studies have
been performed, only 3 of which were
published in the medical literature. The
studies are of variable quality and design.
The largest body of research to date has
been by neurosurgeon Norm Shealy, MD, PhD,
founder of the American Board of Scientific
Medical Intuition, but it has only been
published in book form without peer review.
Larry Burk, MD, will report on his case
studies with Caroline Myss, PhD, and other
intuitives, as well as a Rhine pilot project
with 7 intuitives from North Carolina. Leon
Curry, MD, will report on his experience
evaluating the intuitive diagnostic
abilities of Greta Alexander.
Psychic
Amplifiers Panel Discussion:
Altered states facilitating psi beyond the
Ganzfeld
Rhine Research Center, Spring 2007
Conference at Myrtle Beach
Part 1
Part 2
Jean Hamilton, MD, PhD, Moderator,
Integrative Physician, Psychologist
James Carpenter, PhD, Clinical Psychologist,
Parapsychology Researcher
Deborah Quevedo, RN, MA, Holistic Nurse,
Ayahuasca Researcher
Lenore Wiand, PhD, Clinical Psychologist,
Shamanic Flute Practitioner
Panelists will explore three types of
experiences that appear to enhance psychic
phenomenon:
Psychospiritual aspects of Amazonian
traditional healing, including use of sacred
plants, ayahuasca (Quevedo); Perceptions of
interconnectedness and expanded states of
awareness stimulated by listening to
Sacred/Shamanic flute music (Wiand); and
"Flow", a highly intuitive state often found
in games, sports and creative activities
(Hamilton). The presentations will include
listening to Sacred/Shamanic flute music.
Discussion will be moderated by experts in
psychobiology and parapsychology research.
