Remote Viewing
with Psychic Spy Joe McMoneagle
Saturday, June 28th
9:30 am to 4:30 pm
(Lunch provided)
Course Description:
Joseph McMoneagle is known for his involvement in the development of Remote Viewing by U.S. Army Intelligence and the Stanford Research Institute. In 1977, he was was one of the original Officers recruited for a top secret army project that became known as Star Gate-psychic spying on behalf of the United States. The army showed McMoneagle secret documents, based on information compiled by the Stanford Research Institute, that revealed enemy psychic spying on the United States. Willing to learn more, McMoneagle soon became immersed in the program, which was set up in some old buildings on the periphery of Fort Meade, Md., near Washington, D.C. During the 10 years that McMoneagle spent with this program, he developed an uncanny ability at "remote viewing," a process by which he was able to psychically see a targeted object, at one point seeing into a secret Soviet submarine construction facility and at another pinpointing where an American general was being held by members of Italy's Red Brigades. After the Star Gate program was revealed to the public on Nightline, McMoneagle appeared on television in America and Japan. This book (his fourth on remote viewing) is a fascinating peek into the secret world of an offbeat military intelligence program and a life lived within it. Along with Ingo Swann he has become one of the most important figures connected to the development of Remote Viewing (RV) and the use of claimed paranormal abilities for military intelligence gathering. At his retirement McMoneagle earned his Legion of Merit for his last 10 years of service, including 5 years of work in SIGINT, SIGnals INTelligence, and 5 years in the RV pr.
This program offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best remote viewers in the world. Practical exercises will be offered during this course.

Trauma, Mysticism and Whole Brain Functioning
with Paul Rademacher
Executive Director of the Monroe Institute
The Rhine Research Center
is pleased to present our May Program Presentation:
Though spiritual offerings abound in this age of information, the pace of life and the deluge of noise in our culture often thwart inner exploration. Sometimes it takes a life changing ordeal to break through the fog of numbness and distraction, so we can see with new eyes. In the first part of this workshop we will look at trauma as one possible doorway to nonordinary perception. Though it is an involuntary and often unwanted intrusion, trauma can serve as an initiation into mystical awareness. For many, especially in western culture where so little emphasis is placed on voluntary spiritual training, it is the first call to a larger life.
Yet trauma is not the only way. With intention and attention we can proactively enter into subtle, yet powerful realms of awareness. During the second part of this presentation we will explore methods of The Monroe Institute to introduce new ranges of perception. We will also have an experiential demonstration of the Hemi-Sync® technology that is used to induce whole brain functioning as a means toward higher awareness. Ironically, when we voluntarily enter states of nonordinary perception, another doorway is often opened: we can touch the potential for healing traumas of the past. In the third part of the program we will look at ways wholeness begins to emerge within the context of new perceptions of life and self awareness.
About Paul Rademacher Executive Director of The Monroe Institute:
For over 25 years, Paul Rademacher has been studying the intersection between consciousness, spirituality and religion. Paul graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1985 and served as a Presbyterian pastor for 15 years. From 1989 to 1992 he pursued doctoral studies in the areas of mysticism, meditation and spiritual practice. In 1997 he attended, for the first time, The Monroe Institute in Faber, VA (world renowned for its pioneering work in human consciousness,) and later became a Monroe Institute Outreach Trainer. From 2000 to 2007 he served as a Residential Trainer at the Virginia campus.
In 2007 he was selected as the Executive Director of The Monroe Institute following the death of Laurie Monroe. His upcoming book, Enlightening Strikes: Mystic Adventures in the Lost Kingdom of Heaven is scheduled for release spring of 2009.

The Interface Between Parapsychology and Religion
Erlendur Harraldsson, Ph.D.
Religion and parapsychology have several points of contact. Paranormal phenomena - often termed miracles when occurring in religious context - are an important aspect of religion as they are often considered divine interventions into the laws of nature.
It comes as no surprise that the first systematic study of paranormal phenomena can be traced back to activities within the Catholic Church around 1730 with the publication of De Canonizatione by Cardinal Prospera Lambertini. In the history of saints are many accounts of psychic phenomena; from ancient times up to the last century. These include healing, stigmata, levitations and even materializations. This holds true for Christian, Hindu and even Muslim saints. We find some direct evidence for this connection in ESP experiments. Those who consider themselves religious scored significantly higher in a series of ESP experiments than those who did not consider themselves religious. Believers in life after death also scored higher in ESP tests than those who did not or had a lesser belief in life after death. Religious figures sometimes appear in paranormal experiences, particularly in deathbed-visions, near-death experiences, and in angelic experiences.
Erlendur Haraldsson Ph. D. is a professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Iceland and an active researcher on paranormal and transpersonal phenomena with numerous publications in scientific journals. He is author of five books, two having appeared in many languages, "At the Hour of Death" a unique study of deathbed-visions that he wrote with Karlis Osis, and "Modern Miracles" on the phenomena associated with Sathya Sai Baba. He spent a year with J. B. Rhine at the Foundation for Research on the Nature of Man (now RRC) in 1969-1970.
Professor Haraldsson spoke last year at the Rhine about his study of Children and Past Lives. Listen online to an interview with Erlendur and Kala as they discuss this study and his lecture last year. |

Friday ~ February 22nd ~ 7:30 to 9:00 pm - Synchronicity ~ Dr. Ginette Nachman
Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary, © 2002 Merriam-Webster, Inc. defines Synchronicity: the coincidental occurrence of events and especially psychic events (as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality -used especially in the psychology of C. G. Jung.
Ginette Nachman, MD, PhD, former Rhine Center Director of Education and Board member, will discuss those amazing meaningful coincidences that Carl Jung popularized under the term "synchronicity".
Dr. Nachman is currently writing a book on the subject, prompted in part by her own incredible synchronicity experiences. Join us for a delightful evening as we share stories, explore the various ways that synchronicity manifests, and consider theories and implications of this fascinating phenomenon.
This presentation will be at the Duke Center for Living Campus ~ Stedman Building. 7:30 to 9:00. There is a $10 fee for non-members.
January 25th ~ 7:30 to 9:00 pm ~ Healing Meditations with Tom Spector
Healing Through Meditation a presentation with experiential component led by local meditation teacher Tom Spector, Ph.D, of Hatha House Yoga Studio.
Attendees will experience two forms of meditation and a healing talk, 'Our Two Gardens' - a practical approach to move through our personal issues that are between our superficial self and our inner Self.
Very normal events from our emotions, environment, senses, behavior, and intellect plant weed seeds in our minds. If we react to these events in unhealthy ways, we can turn these seeds into weeds, such as anxiety, anger, worry, stress, depression, guilt, etc. that cause us to suffer.
The talk covers healthy ways to deal with these issues and how to experience the beautiful flowers of our Heart Center. With over 30 years of teaching, Tom's guidance is clear and easy to follow.
