Biographical Information

Jon Seskevich RN, BSN, BA, CHTP is a certified stress management instructor and healing touch practitioner. This popular speaker and winner of a Great 100 Nurses in North Carolina, Alumnus of the Year and Friends of Nursing awards, presents the science and art of healing: improving physical functioning and quality of life.

Jon began his own meditation practice in 1972. In 1975, at age 23, he started his training as a teacher of meditation and healing under the mentorship of meditation expert, psychologist, spiritual teacher and writer, Ram Dass (Richard Alpert, Ph.D.), who wrote about Jon in 1996.
"His recognition of the need for both a spiritual dimension in healing work and grounded, responsible social action in spiritual work have defined his career in nursing. To that career he has brought a creative energy for integrating, in mind-body healing, meditative practices with stress reduction, healing touch with traditional nursing practices and a spiritual perspective for patients facing traumatic illness”.
An accomplished singer and player of the harmonium – a type of organ - Seskevich has released six albums and appeared onstage at festivals. Recently, his music has explored blending the circular melodies of old-time bluegrass with chanting derived from several faith traditions. ”I say chanting is universal. All these spiritual traditions do this common practice. I’m more for bringing people together as opposed to separation.”
